Colville Attractions

Colville is known for the majestic mountains, hiking and abundant wildlife.  If you are new to the area, or thinking of relocating to this quaint little town here are some things you may want explore:

Colville has a great local Farmer’s market located in the center of town.  You will find fresh fruits, vegetables and products that will enhance your lifestyle.  Currently the farmers market runs throughout the growing season and is open Wednesdays and Saturdays until 1:00pm.

Copperbowl bowling alley is under new ownership and offers fun for the whole family.  Located on Main street you will recognize the bright aqua colored exterior and inside you will find that the facility has been modernized throughout.  The Copperbowl offers shoe rentals and a variety of food and beverages.

The Alpine theater has a long history of providing our community with movie entertainment.  Check out their Facebook page at (2) Alpine Theatre | Facebook for movies currently playing. In addition to the movie theater they offer one of the few drive-in theaters left in our state. The Drive-In runs during the summer months and is a family favorite in the area. They offer concessions and 2 movies per showing.  You’ll want to get there early to ensure you have a good spot to park your vehicle.

Are you a fan of golfing?  Dominion Meadows offer 18 holes of golfing with several tournaments throughout the year.  The course is attached to the local Elks club where you can relax on the spacious deck and overlook the beautiful grounds.

Colville also offers the Northeast Washington Fair Grounds where you will be able to watch Pro West Rodeo on Father’s Day weekend or enjoy the fair activities at the end of summer.  Historically, both of the events are kicked off with a parade down Main street which is lots of fun for the kids.

Wildlife is a large part of living in this part of the state.  There is a Wildlife refuge known as the Little Pend Oreille Wildlife Refuge. Just past that along Highway 20 you can stop and view Chrystal Falls, a local landmark.

The Fort Colville Gun Club is also located along Highway 20 and offers a variety of shooting courses. Click on the link provided to see the entire list of amenities.

History is something our area is rich in. You can visit the Keller House or Colville Museum to see some of the local history and artifacts.  The Stevens County Historical Society is always looking for volunteers to help at these facilities.

These sites are just a few of the activities available for entertainment.  I will expand on this in future posts.
